Was not aware of HIGH booking fee or even that there was a booking fee until i asked owner for breakdown of his costs. Not disclosed up front and it's to HIGH!!!!

I wish I would have looked up reviews of Flipkey before I used it for a booking. They booked 2 properties to me for the same day...and it was their fault, not mine. I cancelled the one property immediately, but they still charged me the booking fee of over $200!!! WILL NEVER USE FLIPKEY AGAIN!!! Plus, when you finally get someone on the phone, you can hardly understand them...what does that tell you? Where are they located? Not an American... Read more

We book a property in Orlando for the week of 08/13/16-08/20-16 and we pay in advance, including the damage security deposit we pay 4 months in advance through PayPal- paid on 04/18/16. Now, on 08/30/16 we receive a email from flipkey the security deposit is released! Great! The property owner told flipkey everything was fine and they can release/refund/return the money back to us. Well, almost 10 days past, and so far no money is being refunded... Read more

We have been listing our properties with flip key for over 3 years than all of a sudden they suspended our account without notice. Later they sent us an email and said they were doing a random security check and for me to send a copy of my passport with me standing beside it and a utility bill with my name on it. I have no problem with that because it protects people from scams however they could have notified me without suspending my account.... Read more

Flip Key/Trip Advisor To big for their britches!! They used to be very accommodating and when you called you would actually speak to a customer relations person in the USA. After all, they are based in Boston. Now if you are lucky enough to reach someone they are in the UK or India. All I wanted to do was pay for another years listing of my home, but finally gave up. We are Mountain 2 Beach Vacation Rentals, Gulf Shores. Back in May listed several of our properties on Vacation Home Rentals subsidiary of Flip Key. We have a promise in writing. In July Flip Key tries to charge us again for all the same properties that we paid Vacation Home Rentals in May. A class action lawsuit should be brought against FlipKey. Looks like they are stealing millions from travelers. They don't vet property owners properly, too many scams. They are not responsive to complaints and if you leave negative feedback they will delete it. I recently rented an apartment through FlipKey in Iceland, paid for it in full 5 months before arrival. FlipKey through Trip Advisor is a SCAM. Very disappointed in my first booking with them. They do not disclose all of the fees until you give them your credit card information. If I would have know upfront all of the bogus fees they charged I never would have booked this property!!!! Their initial DETAILED QUOTE only includes the rental cost and the deposit. I have been on the phone 8 or 9 times with FlIPKEY customer service over a rental dispute, they are impossible to reach, and when you finally get someone, it is a call center, foreign and very hard to understand, they read scripts and apparently do not communicate with the resolution side of flipkey.
