I use HomeAway / VRBO and now also airbnb (just recently) but I started my subscription with FlipKey first; more than 6 years ago now. We have 2 vacation rentals, one on the beach in Panama, Central America and one in Aruba.

I'm about ready to ***-can FlipKey. They have become terrible, are simply money grabbing, horrid customer service (unless you like speaking to someone in India) and they won't let my potential guests contact me until they lay out the cash to book the dates. ***!!!!! I recently had a guest who booked through FlipKey (only the first in like 5 months so why bother) and they wanted to add on 1 day.........

I could have done that in 5 minutes and probably would have given them a better price but FlipKey had to spend more than an hour on the phone with me..... added on a bunch more money..... made the guest put down additional money........ and they're just terrible anymore to work with.

They are now SOOOOOO huge that they don't care. Well I don't care any more either. I signed up with airbnb.com and have booked 4 guests in 2 1/2 months when I got 1 from F.K.

I've about had it with them. Tom

Reason of review: I would like to check at least 3 of the boxes above.

Preferred solution: I just want them to change their policies before they make us look bad to our guests.

I am at my wits end with Flipkey/tripadvisor. They are now garbling any messages I send to my potential guests and making it impossible for me to get any information regarding an enquiry to my guests.

Getting in touch with flipkey/tripadvisor is practically impossible and then you spend hours on the phone being passed from person to person and getting nowhere. I think they are trying to be obstructive on purpose.

If Flipkey/tripadvisor can't settle a simple problem via the help desk I am not at all confident that they are capable of taking my bookings, handling my payments and dealing with my guests.
